Theodore George Osius III (born 1961) is an American diplomat. He most notably served as U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam (2014-2017). Born in San Francisco, Osius grew up in Annapolis, Maryland. He attended The Putney School in Vermont, graduating in 1979. He next attended Harvard, where he wrote for The Harvard Crimson and attained a bachelor of arts in social studies.
